Oracle MySQL Cluster – Now 8X Faster

Oracle has released it MySQL Cluster 7.2 software for download, which boasts benchmark scores of 1 billion queries or 100 million updates in a single minute.

Those figures are for an eight-server cluster but the important thing here is that the numbers represent an eightfold improvement over last year’s similar benchmark test.

All of which hopefully means that even though webpages are becoming richer, they needn’t become slower to load, which is especially useful for mobile browsing.
