Dolphin and Firefox update
The Dolphin HD Android browser has been updated to reinstate the double-tap exit feature, meaning you’ve got an ultra-quick way to leave a page and get straight back to the homescreen. It might not seem much on paper, but it feels good when browsing.
Back-ups can now be saved to SD cards too, another useful addition.
You can download the Dolphin HD browser from the Android Marketplace.
Meanwhile over at Mozilla the rapid-update program is to pause for breath. Although new versions of Firefox have been appearing every six weeks or so (Firefox 10 is now available), the last stable release with long-term support was still Firefox 3.6, released in January 2010. Now Firefox 8 is to become the stable version, so all those people happily using Firefox 3.6 (I’m one) will now be prompted to upgrade to the latest stable version.
