Dell $300 Notebook AKA Dell E coming next month

Dell reportedly has said that it will be releasing it’s first subnotebook(actually, Netbook) next month.

It will supposedly be available with either Linux or Windows XP, and powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor. This little subnote will have 8.9-inch display with a resolution of 1,024 by 600 pixels.

Dell E specifications:

  • CPU: Intel Atom (Diamondville) at 1.6GHz
  • Ram: 512MB or 1GB DDR2
  • Screen: 8.9″, widescreen at a 1024×600 resolution
  • Storage: 4GB, 8GB or 12GB Solid state drive
  • Connectivity: Ethernet, Wifi 802.11b/g, optional bluetooth
  • Output: VGA
  • 3 USB, SD Memory card reader
  • Optional VGA (0.3MP) webcam
  • Operating System: Linux or Windows XP
  • Dimensions: 1.22″x9.13″x6.9″
  • Weight: 2.2lbs
  • Price: From $299

    It is cheaper than the EEE 701 and has better resolution too!

    I personally think that the EEE should have done the debut at $300 instead of $400. The quality looks so much better than the EEE too!

    Could be good. If Dell did the keyboard right and if they did software hardware integration right. I’m waiting anxiously for the reviews on this one as my experience with Dell has always reminded me more of the idiot savant company. They always seem to get the hard stuff easy and the easy stuff hard. GREAT find though Kamal. Gadgetmix scoop. Id love to hear more as it comes in.

    Broke with a little more knews. Dell plans more in the second quarter. Give Dell this, both good & bad , they are a terror..
