ARM processors are cheaper and consume much less power compared to the Intel processors. Smooth-Stone is said to be making ARM-powered processors and SoS hardware configurations for use in servers to power cloud computing. The company has been able to raise 49 million dollars from its investors and after successfully deploying their objective, they will be able reduce the CO2 footprint of the data center in a big way.

However, this is not the first time we are hearing abut the ARM-powered servers. Marvel is also working on server-specific versions of the Marvel ARM processors.
