Apple NOT to buy Waze afterall
Apple had its troubles with map app which was recently replaced with Google iOS map app.
TechCrunch reported yesterday that Apple was to acquire social-navigation site Waze for some $500M, but deal went south when Apple only offered $400M plus additional $100M in earn-outs.
Waze enjoys about 30 million users monthly, sharing real-time traffic updates worldwide. The shared info may include accidents, road blocks, police raids and whatever else may be pertinent to traffic. This traffic info is then used to correct driving directions in the application.
Other rumors suggest that Apple is looking into buying TomTom. There are no confirmations offered.
