Zotac to extend ZBox systems

  • Sharebar

Remember the ION-powered ZBox nettops that we posted during the CeBIT 2010? Well, it appears that Zotac is working to extend its ZBox to more powerful CULV processors.

According to the excellent folks at Blogeee, the Zotac ZBox will soon be available with the Intel SU4100 CULV CPU together paired with NVidia ION chipset which allows 1080p video playback like a duck soup. There will be two other versions, out of which one will sport the dual-core Atom 330 processor and another features AMD X2 Neo processor.

Just like the currently available ZBox nettops, these will also come without an operating system, RAM or hard disk. Note that not all ZBoxes are same – those nettops with orange circular ring will have the older ION chipset (ION-1) while the blue ones will feature next-gen ION (ION-2). The Green ones will be AMD-based systems.

Prices start at $217 for the Atom 330+ION combo; $242 for the AMD X2 Neo system, $255 for the ION-2+Pinetrail combo and $300 for the top-end CULV model.
