All Windows XP users will have to upgrade in 2011
In the year 2011, new hard drives are going to make their debut in the market that will use “advanced format” to store data. The newer HDDs will also allow the manufactures to make drives that can store more data on them compared to the drives that are available right now. Windows XP OS, which is still the choice of OS among many netbook users (and some manufactures) will not be able to run on the new hard disks.
The new formats uses 4K sectors that will allow the manufactures to store twice as much. Supported OS include – all Linux OS (with kernel released after September 2009), Windows 7, Vista and OS X.
