[Ubuntu 10.04] Asus Eee 901 and Eee 1000H Wi-Fi problem
Myriad fo netbook users are having a tough time in getting Wi-Fi to work under the recently released Ubuntu 10.04. Asus Eee PC 901 and 1000H users are unable to make their Eee PCs connect to any wireless network.

I, myself have not been able to make Wi-Fi work under 10.04 (Eee 1201T).

This is not looking good for Ubuntu. Most buggy release ever!
@dalton Your comment sucks. One problem for one type of notebook wireless adaptor doesn’t write off a whole distro.
Idiot.
Dear Paul
this really is a major problem because wireless worked on 9.10. There are no warnings about this before you download it and try it. If you’re as lucky as i was, wireless will work fine while the trying period and the problem comes out after you’ve switched to 10.04. You can get it to work by pressing fn+f2(sometimes it takes 15 tryis to get it working), but there is a fix in ubuntu forums. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1440483
This kernel update + driver install worked fine for me.
The thing that makes me mad is, that theyve known about this problem for over a month and a solution has been in the forum fot over a month. Yet they still refuse to touch this.
Hey,
I’ve got an Ubuntu 9.10 system and the wifi drivers work only if i boot from the 2.6.31.14 kernel. i havent been able to rebuild after that, and its very frustrating. im a new user, don’t understand much of the terminal-speak and would really appreciate some help.
Thanks so much,
K Murthy
