Swap the Low-Resolution ‘1024×600’ display of Dell Mini 1012 with HD 1366X768 display
Want a higher-resolution display on your Dell Mini 1012 but don’t want one with the mighty Broadcom’s HD chip? Well, someone at mydellmini forums yearned for something similar. So he purchased an HD display and swapped it with the lower-resolution one and voila, it worked like a charm. Here are the instruction on how to do it:
1. take all screws out of the bottom.
2. take off keyboard.
3. take off hard drive and memory cover.
3. unplug the power button wire and touchpad wire.
4. take out the three screws holding down the center bezel/palmrest.
5. use a credit to pop off bezel front and rear. even the one behind the screen.
6. unplug the screen from the keyboard.
7. take all screws out that hold screen.
8. use credit card to pop bezel off of screen.
9. replace screen.
10. do 1-9 in reverse.
Make sure to use this Dell’s part number – 18003573355 while making the purchase. You can get the display from this link
