Solution to blank screen problem in Windows 7 and Windows Vista (ASUS EEE 1002HA, S101H only)
A lot of ASUS EEE 1002HA as-well-as EEE S101H users who have installed Windows Vista or Windows 7 have been facing the blank screen problem on their devices. Now, we have a solution to this strange problem: flashing a BIOS compatible with Vista and Windows 7.
How to flash:
- Get yourself a FAT16 formatted flash drive
- Copy the 1002ha.rom to the flash drive
- Press alt+f2 when immediately when your computer starts
- Wait for sometime for the new BIOS to overwrite the existing BIOS
- It will then display ‘turn off your EEE PC’. Remove the flash drive and turn it off
- Blank screen problem solved!

Does it really have to be FAT16? Could someone explain why?
The reason could be that BIOS of S101H/1002HA recognizes only FAT16.
