Seagate releases 7mm HDD for ultra-thin notebooks: Seagate Momentus
Along with amazingly fast Pulsar SSD, Seagate has also unleashed a very thin HDD for the ultra-thin notebooks. The 2.5-inch Momentus Thin series is just 7mm thin, while the regular ones that we use in our netbooks are about 9.5mm in thickness. These thin HDDs are suited for the thin and light notebooks. By using drives with smaller waist lines,the manufacturer can bring out the affordable business ultraportables and thinner consumer notebooks.
Seagate gave no information about the capacity of new Momentus Thin series. We will come to know about it soon as it will be showcased at CES 2010.
