Microsoft Office Web apps
Microsoft has released a browser-based versions of its Desktop counterparts. The office web apps are slimmed and shrinked down versions of Office 2010 suit and allow the users to view, share and edit documents in the cloud itself. Users get free access to various tools and upto 25GB of storage as a part of Windows Live account.
Of course, since everything is web-based, you need to have an active Internet connection at all times. Also, because since these run inside the web-browser, they can run on a Windows PC, Linux and Mac. The supported browsers are Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE.
