Volkswagen Group to use NVidia Tegra chip

  • Sharebar

Nvidia Tegra is yet to prove itself in the world of portable computing, but it seems to be all set in making a big name in the world of luxurious cars. Volkswagen group has announced that it will be using Tegra chips in its car navigation systems in 2012.

The first one to use it will be Audi, followed by Volkswagen, Bentley, Lan Bocchini, Seat and Skoda. Other brands will follow their suit in 2012.

Folks at Tegra are expecting their shipments to reach 250-300 million in the year 2012 which may sound a too ambitious considering the fact that NVidia was able to sell just 50 million units in the year 2009
