Intel releases $125 SSD for netbooks
Intel said today that they will soon be shipping an SSD that would retail at mere $125. Since it has a typical SATA interface, it can be pretty much any laptop or netbook out there that uses 2.5-inch har disk drives. It is based on MLC and has 125MB/s read speed and 70MB/s write speeds.
"I think consumers will consider this product. Equipment manufacturers definitely will," said Michael Yang, a flash memory analyst at iSuppli Corp.
