hi ignore first part as i realised there is only 1 slot for the 2gb of ram lol can i save installed apps such as works or java to my sd memory card so they are not stored in my ssd memory.

hi my asus eeepc 701 sd comes with windows xp. it has 8gsdd and 512 ram. what is the maximum ram i can put in is it still only 2gb or can i put more in. also it has a SD card slot what is the biggest memory SD Memory card i can use.

I have an ASUS EeePC 701 white 4g – came with 512 RAM, can I replace it with 2GB RAM or not?? if i can and replace with 2gb ram ddr 800 it will run only 667 mhz right?

i have a EeePC 1018P with 1 gig ram. I would like to upgrade to 2 gig, what kind of memory will it take? 1-2gig ram or 2-1gig or 1-1gig, ddr2 or ddr3?

You can get a rebuilt Kernel for Xandros so it will recognize the 2 Gig stick, all you gotta do is make the new Kernel the default boot Kernel. It took me all of 20 min from start to finish on my 701.

For that you will need patched version of Xandros OS. Windows XP recognizes it fine

Yes, Ken. You are right. Only 1GB will be recognized. Also, I don’t think there is a need of 2GB RAM on the xandros OS, which is supplied by the Asus.

I highly doubt that the Asus will be rolling out any updates though. :/ You know, Asus has never won awards for after-sales/customer support anyway ;)

Install XP, your 2GB RAM will be recognized immediately

So, if I put a 2 gig RAM SIMM into an early, white, eee 701 4G the ASUS-supplied OS will only recognize/use 1 Gig of RAM? I wonder if they’ll fix that at some point…
