Install Linux on your netbook and get your warranty voided – Boom!
The best buy store refused to get the nettop repaired just because the guy had Linux installed on it.
His netbook was 4 month old and the touchpad and power adapter, all of a sudden stopped working. He took the machine to the Best Buy under the Geek Squad’s Black Tie Protection plan and explained the staff there the problems he was facing.
Now, here comes the interesting part. The manager informed him that by installing Ubuntu Linux voided his warranty and it could be serviced only if the original Windows was installed on it. He went ahead and insisted that the problem occurred by using Linux. It was due to the Linux according to the manager that the power adapter and touchpad stopped working.
So, he went back home and reinstalled Windows using the restoration disk. Next day, he went back to Best Buy. The Manager there looked into his eyes and told him that the Linux had permanently damaged the hardware. The guy then asked him to see his warranty and after making him wait for 40 minutes, asked him to leave his store.
He went back in there again after an hour and asked him about the unauthorized modifications he did to the netbook. He said “Windows is authorized and Linux is notâ€. The manager said that he was annoying him and asked the security to escort him out of the store.
Moral of story: Electronic Stores do not like Linux

Typical. There is no best buy at Best Buy. Ever. Even if you get a deal on something, you’ll pay for it somehow in the long run. And this applies equally to their customer service skills and their “geek team” knowledge. I commonly tell anyone who asks avoid that store if at all possible.
Best Buy = Worst Buy ;)
this happened to me to, cant click anything and the assholes at best buy said it was my fault because of ubuntu
