HP DM3a CULV laptop review
HP DM3a is the new AMD-congo based notebook from HP. AMD Congo is the AMD’s answer to the Intel CULV range of processors. The HP DM3a has a 13.3-inch screen; runs AMD Congo (Neo X2 L335)aka AMD dual-core Athlon Neo that is based on the AMD M780 chipset.
HP DM3a runs at 1.6GHz clock speed which is same as Intel Atom N280 CPUs, but is much more powerful. You get 2GB RAM to play with which is expandable upto 8GB! It comes equipped with 250GB HDD too (7200rpm).
Its keyboard has the same pebble type keys, found in many other netbooks and notebooks. The touchpad supports multi-touch too. It has 4 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port, 5-in-1 card reader, WiFi b/g/n and Ethernet. HP claims a steller battery life of 6 hours.
HP also offers HP DM3i, which is similar to DM3a except for the obvious fact that it runs Intel CULV.
In the performance tests, it turned out to be 2x powerful than the SONY VAIO X. It gave about the same performance as the LaVie M CULV notebook.
