HP and Dell – “We are now done with netbooks”
It is not an unknown fact that margins are very slim in netbooks. As the competition increases, the vendors are often forced to sell these netbooks by giving further discounts to make the overall deal look more attractive. However, you can give discounts only upto certain extent and when the sales figures are not projecting a pretty image, it is time to say ‘bye-bye’ to that field. HP and Dell are actually thinking to completely do away with the netbooks and just focus on the notebooks.
But, players at the top of the list are not planning in leaving the netbook market, despite slim margins. This includes the market leader Acer, followed by Asus and Samsung.
