Free netbooks for Low-income families
TM (Telekom Malaysia Berhad) will be giving 10,000 netbooks, (almost) free of cost and broadband packages to the people who fall under low income group and university students. This Netbook-broadband combo will be offered for mere RM38 which rounds about to 11 dollars. They will also be required to enroll themselves under a 2 year contract.
"Our aim is to increase the personal computer and broadband penetration rates, especially in Penang, in line with the national agenda of increasing the country’s broadband penetration rate to 50 per cent of households by the end of the year," said State TM manager Lai Hook Kian
