Epson Endeavor NP12-V and AY301-V: Say hello to the new NetTops by Epson
Epson Direct Corporation has launched two nettops, one based on Atom platform and another, CULV platform. The Endeavor NP12-V nettop sports an Intel Atom 230 processor (1.6GHz). It runs Windows 7 Home Premium as its OS. Price starts at $368 (32800 yen) and is perfect for basic computing needs. If you need some more power under the bonnet, Epson has more powerful nettop for you – AY301V – comes with a Celeron 430 processor costing ~$450 (39900 yen). There is one equipped with Core 2 Duo E7500 processor (and 2GB RAM) too that will retail for ~$614 (54600 yen).
Common Specs: 1GB RAM, 160GB hard disk, SiS672+SiS968 chipset, 6 USB 2.0 ports, LAN, VGA, microphone and earphone jacks. AY301-V has a DVD burner too.
Epson is offering NP12-V bundled with an optional 18-inch LCD display. The nettop can be mounted behind the display for that clean look. The display costs additional ~$150 (13000 yen).
