Dell Inspiron Mini 10 updated to Intel Atom Pine Trail platform
Dell has updated its Inspiron Mini 10 netbook series. The updated versions would have Atom N450 CPU. It will be priced at $299 and will be up for sale in US from January 5th. It will run Windows 7 Starter Edition or Windows XP Home as OS. In month of February, Ubuntu 9.04 Linux will also be available. The updated Mini 10 includes some minor cosmetic changes too, like introduction of textured palm wrest area which makes the palm area resistant to finger prints. Sadly, for some reason multi touch support has been dropped.
Most of the Insipirons will now be shipped with 6-cell battery. That said, the battery compartment is now designed to easily accommodate both 3-cell as-well-as 6-cell batteries. The customization options include: Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS and many other entertainment-focused options – a Broadcom Crystal HD Media Accelerator and TV tuner.
The colors in which the new Inspiron Mini 10 will be seen are: black, white, blue, purple, red, green, and pink.
