Cedar Trail to be fanless

Chances are that the next-gen Intel Atom CPU, codenamed Cedar Trail will be fanless. The TDP of this upcoming CPU is estimated to be around 5W, which makes sense to make the whole netbook fanless. No fan = more power left for CPU and other components under the bonnet.

Note that this is not the first time we are going to be endowed with fanless mobile CPUs. Many of the Atom-based Sony Vaio netbooks do not have fan inside. This include Sony Vaio P and Sony Vaio X, both of which use the extremely power-sipping Atom Z-series CPU.
