Canonical wants to bring full desktop experience on ARM
Folks at armdevices.net were able to get catch the Canocial’s partner engineer, Jerone Young who tell them the challenges faced by the Canonical team to optimize Ubuntu for the ARM-architecture. A lot of stress is being given to being hardware acceleration, standardization of boot processor and other aspects surrounding the ARM platform. There is also talk about multi-core support for the upcoming ARM Cortex A9 processors.
