I am from the Philippines and I own this Aspire One 751h. I tried updating the BIOS to v3212 and it seems that it stopped the freezing issue when running Windows XP. I tried not turning off the netbook for 3 days straight and it never froze. However, it seems that the freeze comes in when I started running Windows 7 on it. (Occasionally freezing once in 24 hours of usage.)I have installed the latest drivers for the video and sound. (freezing usually happens when watching .mkv videos and downloading stuff from the internet.)

Bios Version 1.26 for the Asus EE PC 1005HAB has completely locked my system.. Acer Supervisor Admitted
that the ver 1.26 bios is being removed from the site because it is causing machines to just freeze.. the Acer Aspire one random death syndrome.. I have it recorded and his only solution was to send it it.. I had a fit.. and he was so rude.. I hung up called back and then another idiot rep gave me a reseller number for acer.. atleast they were american .. I can’t understand half of what acers crack pot tech support team says.. they are all out sourced and not very helpful.. it took me explaing my situaton after the superviser admitted on recording that bios 1.26 upgrade for the d250 is locking systems up.. so why do I have to pay for a shipping label.. Im gonna try to Hold fn and Esc again and flash the bios back down again.. I mean i fell asleep running in windows 7.. with it next to the bed.. i closed the lid.. it had been upgraded to 1.26 for about 3 days and had been rebooted probably 5-10 times.. and of course she turns it on this morning and its frozen at the acer splash screen.. you can flash the bios .. I did to 1.25 with a flash drive and holding fn + esc while hitting the power button with the battery out and still no luck gonna try to bring it back to an even earlier bios.. let me know if anyone can help with this problem…. i have extensive technical knowledge… so if you give me some simple instructions I won’t have a problem.. leave me an email or something… arichards42@gmail.com

The technitian from Acer that I ‘chatted’ with did not give me any explanation nor did they answer my question of whether all same model netbooks have the same problem. I’m considering replacing it with another one since my warranty from Radio Shack is still good for defected products, but if all or most are the same…. I was told to give this BIOS update a try. I just did, and I’m waiting to see if it freezes up again. Bottom line they won’t say anything and another email with the same question produced a reply to send it in for fixing but warned that although under warrantee I would have to pay for a one way shipping. What kind of deal is that? If it’s a defect it should be fixed at no charge and no shipping cost. It’s my first Acer and so far I’m not impressed.

Well, I would suggest you to update to the latest BIOS and check it for yourself. BIOS updates come with numerous improvements, but it sucks that Acer does not give any revision history.

Just bought my Acer 751h last week and it freezes every time I use the webcam with Skype. Acer didn’t want to help me since I didn’t buy it in the US but in Hong Kong, but HK support is all in Chinese. Talk about a f***ing headache. So does updating the BIOS fix this problem or are we screwed?

I agree with Yonah. Is there any justification about new update? I have problem when increasing memory from 1Gb to 2Gb. On 1Gb of memory every thing working properly, slow but properly.

I agree. It really would be nice if Acer provided some light on what issues, if any, have been fixed. My 751H freezes often and Acer has not been helpful at all. My first and last Acer purchase unless the problem is acknowledged and fixed.
