ASUS’ Smartbook price confirmed: $180
We have mentioned about the ASUS Smartbook on many occasions (this, this and this). However, nobody knew the price at which it will retail for.
Well, it has been confirmed by the ASUS boss, Jerry Shen that it will retail at $184. Interestingly, now he has firm believe in the success of the Smartbooks. This is contrary to what he said earlier this year “I still don’t see a clear market for smartbooksâ€
We won’t blame him as then, Android was not considered so powerful and did not have such extensive application support. So it made sense to postpone their Smartbook’s launch. Now, as the Android platform is taking a firm grip in the market, it appears that it is the right time for the Smartbooks to finally enter the market of netbooks and notebooks.
