ASUS Eee PC X101 super thin netbook

Asus has put a new page on their website. It promotes their new and very thin Eee PC X101 netbook, which is 17.6 mm-thin and weighs only 920 grams. The only storage available on the X101 is 8GB SSD. I suspect this netbook is designed primarily for cloud computing. The operating system is MeeGo and Asus has incorporated social media sites like Facebook, and Twitter onto the homepage. The X101 netbook has a 10.1-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution. The ASUS Eee PC X101 runs on a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom N435 processor backed up by 1GB of RAM.
The Asus product page displays an English-learning app with over “300 pieces of material was developed by English Language Training (ELT) leaders and the British Council, with the application designed by Intel’s award winning Performance Learning Solutions.” Gadgetmix is not sure exactly what Asus is attempting with this feature. Perhaps they hope to attract some non-English speaking folk…?
The ASUS App store and Chrome Webstore is also ready to be accessed. Asus @vibe and Cloud computing are also being promoted here.
Among other specs the X101 has WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, two USB 2.0 ports, an audio jack, and a SD/SDHC memory card reader. It has a 3-cell battery which will last you about 4 hours. The webcam is only 0.3MP, but that should do for leisure Skype chat. The X101 will be offered in white, red or brown. Cast your eyes over the X101 pictures below:
