The 904 HA uses the 1000 H motherboard The unit gets identified as a 1000 H after the first firmware upgrade.

The review was mis identified to state that the speakers are on the sides of the monitors. The system has a VGA output connection that supports a max resolution of 1980 by 1080. The system supports dvd playback with a very small bit of lag. Fully supports Linux Ubuntu 9.10 with a lack of support for full sleep mode recovery on the video.

I’m thinking of buying a netbook, but i’d want to be able to take a video output to monitor/projector for watching films etc – Does the epc 904ha support that OK? As i’d be my only PC is it OK for general use (no fancy graphics or anything) or should I really look to £100 more to get a desktop set up?

As mentioned for the bottom mounted speakers. The speakers on the computers being review are at the bottom located under the palm rest area. It is purely a cosmestic look it showing like there are speakers side mounted. I am curious how the sound on the unit you purchased.

I’ve had mine for over 6 months and totally love it. I have found that motherboard inside is of this unit to be the 1000h version with only the 9″ screen being the difference. I’m using dual boot with two operating systems both XP and Mandriva 2009.1 are running very well.

The speakers on mine are located at the bottom front (not in the LCD screen frame) of the unit and i’ve noticed with my UK model there’s a full version of Microsoft office 2007 included aswell. Battery life i can squeeze out of this with light use is upto 5 hours wireless off and up to 4 hours with wireless on.

I love this netbook so much i can’t stop picking it up and using it. 5 stars from me all the way.

do this tool work significantly on this gadget, or they wil be having any issues or what exatly you are trying to say.

I can confirm that Acrobat Reader pro, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash work pretty fine on it. I have not installed other apps that are there in master package. But, I do not see a reason why they won’t work

I am looking at buying a second hand eee pc 904ha which has Adobe creative suite master collection along with a whole lot of other programs installed.

I can’t see anywhere in any of the queries how this notebook performs with graphic design.

Oh i see, thanks a lot for your suggestion, I was considering if I bought the PC1000, i can move the EEE PC without having them suspended or shut down first which cant be to the HDD …

@ Helllene: The speed of the drive is not slow because of Linux. Also, I do not think that the SSD is replaceable.

In 1000H and 1000HE, the HDD is replaceable. You can even put in a 2.5-inch SSD if you wish to

Oh i see, but can i replace or add new HDD to the PC1000 or replace one of the SSD?

How slow is the performance of the 8GB partition? I’ve ever had the PC 700, i experienced the 4GB SSD of it runs normal, is the 8GB SSD of PC1000 runs slower than this ?

@ Hellene: I would rather go for 1000HE or 1000H as linux version of 1000 series comes with two disk partitions (8GB and 32GB) out of which I know that 8GB partition is pretty slow.

I would go for 1000HE or 1000H:)
