ASUS EEE 1008HA – Its Flaps will drive you crazy!

  • Sharebar

The ASUS has done a lot of hard work in copying the looks of the Macbook Air. Unfortunately, it also copied the flaps that cover the USB ports as-well-as headphone and microphone jacks. At first, we found the flaps to be slick and instead appreciated as they made the overall design more streamlined and sophisticated.

After ‘playing’ with the unit for a little while, we decided to plug-in our Wimax (3.5G) USB data card. To our surprise, we were not able to plug it in due to flaps! Disgusted and dismayed, we had no option, but to use USB extension cable to use our USB data card. Looks like, the engineers at ASUS do not use their netbooks outside the factory.

Due to the darn flaps, some of the ‘fat’ USB flash drives also did not fit in. It surely drove us crazy!
