ASUS EEE 1008HA – couple of benchmarks, start up and shut down time

Some people are highly into benchmarks and their sometimes, even their buying decisions are solely based on the benchmarks.

Here is the screenshot of Crystal Disk Mark:

It is obvious that you would want us to compare Disk Mark results of other netbooks.

This is from EEE 1000HE (reviewed here). Clearly, EEE 1000HE is a bit faster in terms on HDD performance

This is from EEE 1002HA (reviwed here).

Now, let us take a look at the Crystal Mark results of EEE 1008HA:

Now, for those who care about the actual working of the netbook and just do not make their buying decisions solely on the benchmark numbers, EEE 1008HA is a not a slow machine by any means. It is as zippy as EEE 1000HE in real world use. Both use the same processor, Atom N280 which runs at slightly higher clock speed than the Atom N270 (1.66GHz versus 1.6GHz).

Boot up and Shut Down times

The boot up times are very good. See the following video to see how much time does it takes to boot up and for shutting itself down.

It took it just 1 second (yes, just one second!) to move into standby mode and 4 seconds to come out of standby mode. Pretty zippy for netbook.
