Asus Eee 1018P, 1018PB HDD replacement

Thanks to our reader Samuel Fuller, we know have the instructions along with pictures on how to replace the HDD with a SSD (or bigger HDD). Here are the steps (Click=Big for all pictures):

step 1 – Remove the screws highlighted in red

step 2 – Use the SDHC spare to push the keyboard off of the frame. You have to insert it just a bit, then flip it up towards the keyboard. Use that SDHC spare to work your way around the seam between the keyboard and frame

step 3 – Disconnect the keyboard and trackpad ribbons highlighted in red

step 4 – Disconnect the screws where my thumb and finger are touching the HDD and pull it out.
