Asus 1015T Netbook powered by AMD processor

  • Sharebar

A couple of pictures have surfaced of the upcoming netbook from Asus. This netbook, unlike most of the Asus Eee PCs we have seen so far, is powered by an AMD V105 processor and features ATi Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics. This AMD V105 processor runs at a clocked speed of 1.2GHz. One shall not consider the clock speed as the litmus test of the speed of the device because this baby can outclass Atom N470 and N450 with ease.

The Asus Eee PC 1015T has a 10-inch LED backlit display, 1024×600 pixel screen, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 320GB hard disk and upto 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, Asus has not announced the price or the availability date.

Yay! Finally Intel’s monopoly is wearing off after the FTC’s Consent Decree in August 2010. Atom netbooks, from what I’ve seen, are all painfully slow. Ever tried watching a video on an Atom netbook? It’s like watching a still-picture slideshow!!!

I still can’t believe that Intel bribed and coerced so many manufacturers… Even HP was afraid to accept FREE processors from AMD for fear of Intel’s retribution.

    Bad bad bad Intel!
