Again, I wouldn't recommend totally disabling the pagefile. Some programs look for the page file and throw errors/lock if it isn't there at all. Some stuff always seems to page. Some programs prefer to have a pagefile.
Instead, I would turn it down to some minimal amount - 200MB, 256 MB, whatever...

Ramdisk is a nice option. But, if you dedicate RAM to your page file, then you're only making the page file more necessary and less useful. So,IMHO, it is dumb idea. :/

@Kamal

Even if what you say is true (and i don't think it it) with 2 gigs of ram you can create a ramdisk and place the pagefile on if if required. A ramdisk should always be used for temp internet files, cache and temp folders etc.

@ Travis: It is not advised to completely turn off the page file. This is because some applications need page file to function. eg: some games need small amount of page file to even run no matter what is the amount of available RAM

My page file is 0 MB (zero)on my 702 (8G) with 2 gigs of RAM and have had absolutely zero problems. Anyone with an EeePC should visit www.eeeuser.com.

Awesome article as usual Kamal. It was very helpful and have pushed me further to get myself an EEE PC.

PS: Can you write an article on how to install XP on EEE PC because I've heard that it normally comes with xandros?
