ARM to introduce 3 Cortex-based CPUs
ARM is prepping three new Cortex-based processors that will released later this year. These 3 processors are code-named as Eagle, Heron and Merlin respectively. Heron’s target market is automotive engine management, hard disk controller and ARM is planning to produce 10 million of these chips.
Merlin is for audio processing and vehicle and industrial control. ARM will be making 16 billion of these chips in an year.
Last, but not the least, the Eagle is meant to be used on Smartphones, MIDs and TVs. 3 billion of these will be made every year.
