Acer has just released a new netbook – Aspire D255. Powered by the new Atom N550 1.5GHz processor, this netbooks looks exactly like the Acer D260 netbook except for the fact that it does not uses chrome elements on its shell. Other than that, it is same as D260, but with a more powerful processor.

The processor has two cores, just like the Atom D525 processor, but is geared towards netbooks instead of nettops. It support hyper threading, but lacks support for Intel’s Turbo Boost technology.

That said, some users who use single-threaded apps may not see any significant improvement over the single-core Atom netbooks.

update -  The netbook will retail at 370 dollars.
