  • Sharebar

If you are really curious to look and touch the Always Innovating’s unique Touch Book, then you may have ordered earlier. You can now really do so as it now being directed towards the buyers. However, it may take weeks and weeks to get shipped. You will have to fill in a questionnaire which will decide about sequence of your ordering and delivery. The software that ships with the TouchBook is still in Beta and thus can have some bugs!

This netbook will cost you around $399. The Touch book has distinct features, some of them are: 7 USB ports (!), 3D accelerometer, detachable display/tablet, 8.9” 1024 x 600 Display, 802.11n Wi-Fi and more. Unfortunately, it is using an OMAP processor, which means it cannot run Windows XP or any x86 OS.

Well I ordered one, I thought about it for month :) Last year there was an announcement that they will bring out a notebook based on ARM processors.

Actual most of the linux distributions will run on it. Gentoo for example has full ARM support since you build your binaries yourself anyway…

I will have a look at the OS that comes preinstalled and if needed replace it. There is much space on a 8 GB SSD :)

    Cheers,
