Samsung N145p, N250p spotted

Yesterday, Samsung rolled-out 3 new models, NF310, NF210 and NF110, but the company is showing-off two more models – N145P and N250P. Both are powered by the Atom N450 processor and come with nice 10.1-inch matte displays and chiclet keyboards.

Samsung is claiming 10 to 13.5 hours of runtime with both the models. The N145P looks a bit cheaper too compared to the N250P. We will post the complete specs as-soon-as we receive them from our friends.

It appears that Acer has realized that having alphanumeric model numbers are just too confusing for the end users and perhaps that is why they have just named the new Acer as Aspire One Happy. Unfortunately, it seems that the new netbook is nothing more than rebranded Acer D255 netbook with brighter colors, to make you happy.

Bezel and keyboard, both are white in color and the lid boasts bright colors. With the dual-core Atom N550 at its heart, the Acer Aspire One Happy comes with 1GB RAM, Windows 7 Starter OS and everything that you would find in the Acer AO D255.

Asus Lamborghini dual-core netbook, the VX6 is now available at the ExcaliburPC. The one on sale comes with 2GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD and comes with 3x USB 3.0 ports. Outfitted with a 12.1-inch display, this speedy netbook features the next-generation ION graphics and Atom D525 processor dual-core 1.8GHz processor.

Those specs remind me of the Asus 1215N netbook that I reviewed few weeks back. More about the $700 Asus VX6

It is now possible to get the HP Mini 210 with the dual-core Atom N550 processor that should pack more punch than the single core Atom N455/N475 processors. This model also comes with Broadcom Video accelerator which makes 1080p video playback possible.

Available in 5 colors, charcoal, red, rose, frost and ‘ocean drive’, the Mini 210 is a fine netbook boasting almost full-size keyboard and amazing battery life. It will be interesting to impact of dual-core processor on the battery runtimes.

Samsung has unveiled three new netbooks in the market – NF310, NF210 and NF110. All of the three are resistant to shocks, scratches and dust.

First is the Samsung NF310 that comes with an LED HD display (1366×768) and a unique sound system. As expected, this top-of-the line model has the latest dual-core Atom N550 processor, DDR3 RAM and runs Windows 7 OS.

Samsung NF210 is for those looking for long battery life. The company claims up to 14 hours of runtime from a single charge.

Samsung NF110 is for those who want to own a netbook without breaking the bank. Stay tuned for the detailed specs!

Packard Bell Dot SE – Another Atom N550 powered netbook

Packard Bell is soon going to unveil a new netbook equipped with a dual core Atom N550 processor which will be called by the name of Packard Bell Dot SE. It will come with 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Intel GMA 3150 graphics, Windows 7 SE and a 6-cell battery that should deliver a runtime somewhere between 6-8 hours. You also get 1.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi, 2x USB 2.0 ports, and a multicard reader. Expected price is around 400 Euros (500 dollars).

More and more netbooks with the new Atom N550 processor are being announced everyday. First is the suave Asus 1018P that we reviewed a couple of weeks back. This netbook has been spotted with the dual-core Atom at a Belgium store.

Second is the new Asus 1215P that comes with 250GB hard disk drive, 2GB DDR3 RAM, Wi-Fi and runs Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Although it is very easy to replace the RAM in Samsung N230 netbook, getting to the hard drive on the system is not an easy job. There is  just no place to unscrew a panel to the HDD. However, it is not impossible. You too can replace its HDD, if you have some patience. Folks at netbookitalia have posted a disassembly guide of this Samsung netbook that provides enough pictures to get your work done.  

Basically, you need to unscrew every single screw present at the bottom of the netbook and then take the keyboard out to get access to the HDD

Samsung N230 is one of the best netbooks out there and why not? After all, Samsung managed to squeeze in mighty 8 hours of juice into the netbook and if you stick-in the optional long-life battery, then the runtimes can get close to 14 hours!

And then we have the Asus Eee PC 1018P. Design-wise, Asus 1018p is well-harmonized. It looks sleek and boasts metallic finish giving it a premium look.

Folks at EeePc.it have done a photo comparison of these two netbooks and it is worth taking a look at the photographs. If you ask us, looks-wise Asus 1018p clearly beats the Samsung out-of-water.

Asus Eee PC 1015PED on sale at ExcaliburPC

ExcaliburPC is now finally shipping the Asus 1015PED that was earlier available for pre-order. There are two configurations for this model – one come with Atom N455 processor (1.66GHz) and another comes with Atom N475 (1.83GHz). The Atom N455 version comes with a smaller battery that is rated to give you 10 hours of uninterrupted usage while the faster processor version comes with a bigger capacity battery with 13 hours of claimed runtime.

Common specs include 10.1-inch WSVGA display, 1GB RAM, 260GB HDD, 802.11n Wi-Fi and BT 3.0. Available in red, blue, black and white colors.
