Toshiba NB305 review
Toshiba Mini NB305 netbook is the Toshiba’s latest Pine Trail netbook that comes with Atom N450 processor. Clocked at 1.66GHz, this marvelous and extremely functional netbook costs $399 and is a great buy.
It sports an excellent chiclet keyboard, also found in much more expensive, Sony Vaio X. The Mini NB305 comes with a gig of RAM, that can easily be upgradable to 2GB. Like with the recent pine trail netbooks, Intel has now allowed the OEMs and manufactures to use more than 160GB capacity hard disks in the netbooks. Toshiba has taken advantage of this opportunity and has equipped the NB305 with 250GB hard disk drive
Featuring a bright, glossy LED 10.1-inch display, color reproduction is excellent. But, since it is glossy, it reflects quite a lot of light back to you.
Ports – There are 3 USB ports, 1 VGA port, Ethernet port and 3-in-1 memory card reader. There is no HDMI on this unit. Design-wise, there is no lump at the back. Instead, it is there at the bottom of the unit.

According to this review by laptopmag, integrated speakers are weak when compared to the other netbooks.
It runs Windows 7 Starter, which is meant to be used in cheap laptops and netbooks. However, you won’t find Aero glass interface and won’t be able to change the wallpaper of your computer. There are other minor differences like inability to run XP Mode (offered in 7 Professional and Ultimate) and Windows media center is missing too.
Performance wise, it performed nicely when playing Hulu and Youtube, which are fairly processor intensive tasks. This means it can run almost any application out there. Just do not expect it to run CAD or any new high end games without any hiccups.
Verdict
A nice compact computer from Toshiba. It has a great keyboard and yield satisfactory performance and battery runtimes (8:37 minutes).

[...] Toshiba NB305 review [...]
I bought an NB205 for my wife and I really liked it. I decided to get the newer NB305 for myself. Unfortunately I learned after I got it that Toshiba doesn’t include Bluetooth in the NB305 models. Strangely, they do include Bluetooth in NB305 models being sold in Europe. Guess I will need to send this one back and find an NB205.
