Lenovo Racer-A – Preview

Lenovo Racer-A

The Lenovo Racer-A is the newest addition to the Idea Smart Phone K line and features a 4.5-inch 720p multi-touch screen. The Racer-A can play 1080p video at 30 frames per second, and also boasts 720p WiDi, a full 3D media center, and a rear-facing 8MP autofocus camera. And the Lenovo Racer-A packs a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Medfield processor.

The Racer-A runs Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 and has 1GB DDR2 RAM to help it handle all those apps. Storage runs to 32GB. For connectivity the Lenovo Racer-A offers WCDMA and HSPA+.the 1800mAh battery should last all day, according to Lenovo. The design of the Racer-A is both slim and light, and features three Android capacitive buttons situated below the display. The usual five Gingerbread screens are present, although the app launcher has been modified.

The dualcore CPU enables you to jump to any point in a full resolution video without the slightest lag , and streaming video via WiFi to a Lenovo Smart TV is similarly problem-free The Lenovo Racer-A offers a 5MP front-facing camera and a rear-facing 8MP snapper,which means HD whichever camera you use, and the pre-installed photo gallery is very suave, with a 3D effect enabling you to zoom in or out – all smoothly and stutter-free.

A microUSB socket is the only port other than the hedphone jack. The Intel Medfield architecture makes use of dual-hyper-threading to speed things up and the handset boots up in seconds. For sensors the Lenovo Racer-A packs a compass, gyroscope and GPS. An upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich will be offered soon. The Racer-A is scheduled for launch in Q3 2012 in China . The rest of us will have to wait and see.
