Lenovo IdeaPad U150 and more designer lids for the IdeaPad S10-2 have been released by Lenovo. Its prices starts at $585 and specs are pretty decent too:

  • 320GB HDD or 64GB HDD
  • Intel Core 2 Duo processor
  • 2 GB RAM (expandable to 4GB RAM)
  • WiFi b/g/n
  • 6-cell battery
  • 3G (optional)

The U150 is just 13.5mm thick and weighs only 1.35 kg, yet under the textured red or black cover lies a range of features designed to strike the right balance between mobility and functionality. The ultraportable U150 with an energy-efficient Intel Core 2 Duo processor offers up to 8GB DDR3 memory, 11.6in HD widescreen display and long battery life. The Active Protection System on the U150 helps protect the hard drive if the laptop is dropped or gets bumped. A new version of OneKey Rescue System, Version 7.0, performs data backups up to twice as fast and includes more powerful antivirus scanning that can be run even before loading the operating system.

Few days back, we discovered that the Lenovo has reduced the price for its Lenovo S12 netbook. I just visited their site again and now, they seem to be offering designer lids for their Ideapad S10-2 and price is also reduced.

I tried the customize button, but was not able to do select the designer lid. May that will be available after few days.

Lenovo has launched HD version of its netbook in Japan and Germany. The most outstanding part about it is its resolution which is 1280×720, which is much better than what you see in standard netbooks (1024×600).

Lenovo announced nearly a month back that they would be offering a 3G version of their existing S10 netbook, which will be known as S10-2. Well, it is now finally available for preorder for $439 and is available in colors of grey, black, white and pink.

Lenovo is going to reduce the price of their S10 netbook by nearly $60. This would make their netbook even more affordable than before.

Or may be they want to clear the stock for their upcoming 3G netbook AKA Lenovo S10-2?

With so many companies rolling out 11-inch screen netbooks, Lenovo does not seems that interested in joining their bandwagon. Instead, Lenovo is going to update their S10 netbook with a built-in 3G modem, which will be known as S10-2. Here are some of the differences between S10 and S10-2:

  • Redesign – Rounded edges, different hinge.
  • 8-32GB SSD options
  • 3G Support / SIM card behind battery
  • Wireless Switch
  • ExpressCard/34 slot removed
  • Extra USB port (total of 3)
  • Shrunken, pushed down arrows keys like on AAO.
  • Larger sized trackpad
  • Ports/buttons/LED re-arrangements
  • Battery shape has changed
  • Double access bays to access HDD, RAM and now Wi-Fi.

Lenovo adds 3G to IdeaPad S10, Lenovo S12 coming soon

Lenovo is soon going to unveil 3G-version of the Lenovo S10. This will be known as Lenovo S10-2. A 12-inch screen model is also in the tunnel, which will be known as Lenovo S12. Both models will ship with Splashtop OS, which is basically a linux OS that can be booted in few seconds. It lets the user to browse the web; make Skype calls; use IM etc.
