Acer AO751H REVIEW (same as Acer LT3000) (Acer Aspire One 751)

With so many netbook manufactures now breaking into the 10-inch+ screen limit, Acer was no way going to left behind in the business where it actually rules. The Acer A0751H is the first Acer Aspire One to sport an Intel Atom Z 520 processor that is clocked at 1.3GHz. However, the best part of this netbook is its resolution: 1366 x 768 px, which gives it an obvious edge over its competitors. So, was it able to impress us?

ASUS EEE S101H REVIEW – Detailed!

After the sweet success of ASUS EEE S101, ASUS rolled out a hard disk version of it, the EEE S101H. It is built along the lines of S101. It is just 2.5cm thin; weighs just 1.1kg and its metallic finish makes it perfect for making a style statement. But, do not go swayed away by its looks, it is pretty powerful too. SONY VAIO P coming to Verizon!

SONY VAIO P coming to Verizon!

Guess who is going to join the Verizon’s netbook range? The very tiny SONY VAIO P!

The specs have not undergone huge change except for the fact that it now comes with a much bigger 160GB HDD and wireless broadband module (which is absent in some International models). Other specs: 2GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium and that 8-inch screen with super high resolution (1600×768)

Price: $299.99 with a 2 year contract. Sounds a bit expensive. Yes, but then it is SONY.

Currently, Gateway LT2016U, HP Mini 311 and HP Mini 110 are being offered by Verizon and we are sure that SONY VAIO P (review) will attract a lof of people due to small size and light weight.

HP Mini 110 Studio Tord Boontje runs Windows 7

HP Mini 110 Studio Tord Boontje runs Windows 7

Couple of months back, HP unveiled a couple of designer netbooks based on the HP Mini 110: “Studio Tord Boontje” edition and “Vivienne Tam designer” edition. We have come to know that the “Studio Tord Boontje” edition is now available with Windows 7 Starter edition.

It retails for $399.

Commentary: Frankly speaking, if you ask us, we won’t recommend you to buy this netbook as it runs Atom N270 which is, by no means, the most advanced and power-sipping processor. Secondly, the machine is over-priced for what it offers. 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM coupled with N270 makes the overall deal look awful

Windows 7 will be released very soon and every netbook manufacture is trying their best in making the netbook compatible with the latest OS. HP Mini 311 notebook and HP Mini 110 netbooks are now being offered with Windows 7 OS. Cost to upgrade Mini 311 is $50 from XP Home to Windows 7 Home Premium and cost to upgrade Mini 110 from XP Home to Windows 7 Starter costs $30.

HP to use spill-proof keyboards in their laptops – not giving a damn to their Mini range

HP’s latest PCs will now include laptops which are impervious to water, hence no worries if any kind of liquid accidentally get spill over them. It will be used in their Probook b-series which has a channel beneath the keyboard which protects the laptop from getting damaged through liquids.

The new range will be released on October 22 and prices of B-series will start at $799. This is not the first time, such technology is being used. However, no manufacture has released netbooks that feature a spill-proof keyboard.

It is pity that HP does not uses or offers spill proof keyboard even in their premium netbooks like HP Mini 2140, which retails at a higher price than the standard HP mini 110

After Sony, now HP To Help Breast Cancer Research

After Sony, now HP To Help Breast Cancer Research

After Sony, HP is on the same path to donate for the cause of Breast cancer and it is offering a new pink netbook offer at BestBuy. This pink HP Mini 110 comes with a pink mouse and pink case. It is retailing at $379.99 with free shipping. HP has promised to donate $1 out of every pink mini sold between 9/20/09 and 12/31/09.

Specs-wise nothing has changed.

  • 10.1-inch display
  • 1024×600 resolution
  • 160GB HDD
  • 1GB RAM
  • Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6GHz)
  • WiFi (b/g)

Oh and I completely forget to mention. It still comes with a paltry and pathetic 3-cell battery.

HP has silently increased the resolution of the HP Mini 110 from 1024×576 to 1024×600. You can also go for the much higher 1366 x 768 display on the HP Mini 110, but then the text can be very tiny for a 10-inch display.

For those who think that 24pixels won’t make such a difference, they are wrong. 24pixels can make most of the dialog boxes visible which could not be seen earlier due to 576 vertical pixels.

HP new designer Mini 110 Netbook- Another girly netbook!

Why HP why? Instead of concentrating their current netbook lineup, all HP is doing these days is unveiling designer netbooks. After taking rolling out its second Vivienne Tam designer netbook (HP Mini 110), here is another Mini 110 designer netbook, this time by Tord Boontje.

It’s quite feministic. Starting at $399, it is lower than the Vivienne Tam designer netbook.

HP Mini 2140 and 2140HD have both disappeared from the HP Mini store. HP Mini 2140 was launched in January and HP promised an HD version which was launched just a month back. Their sudden disappearance means only one thing: New models launching soon

If in case that does not happens, then we will be left with just HP Mini 110 and HP Mini 1101, both of which use plastic chassis and not aluminum one.

HP Mini 110 and 1101 launched

HP has announced to to refresh its Mini 1000 series by launching two new models, mini 110 and mini 1101. Both of the models will offer enhancements and some features that were deliberately omitted from the original mini 1000 (example: VGA out and faster HDD)
