Acer AO751H REVIEW (same as Acer LT3000) (Acer Aspire One 751)

With so many netbook manufactures now breaking into the 10-inch+ screen limit, Acer was no way going to left behind in the business where it actually rules. The Acer A0751H is the first Acer Aspire One to sport an Intel Atom Z 520 processor that is clocked at 1.3GHz. However, the best part of this netbook is its resolution: 1366 x 768 px, which gives it an obvious edge over its competitors. So, was it able to impress us?

After the sweet success of ASUS EEE S101, ASUS rolled out a hard disk version of it, the EEE S101H. It is built along the lines of S101. It is just 2.5cm thin; weighs just 1.1kg and its metallic finish makes it perfect for making a style statement. But, do not go swayed away by its looks, it is pretty powerful too. Kohjinsha PA review

PCwatch (Japanese) was able to get their hands on on the Kohjinsha PA, a small tablet that weighs just 400gm! The unit that they got for review ran Windows XP Home. First here is a run down of its specs:

  • Intel Atom Z520 processor at 1.33GHz
  • 32GB SSD
  • 1 USB 2.0 port
  • WLAN
  • Bluetooth
  • 1.3MP micros-SD slot
  • webcam

The processor that is used is the same as used in the entry level SONY VAIO P as-well-as the Acer Aspire 751H. However, the disturbing factor is the use of 512MB RAM.

It has a very sharp 4.8-inch 1024×600 display. This is the same resolution that you see in 10-inch netbooks, so you need to understand that the text is very sharp. The battery life is god-like! 7.5 hours from a 400gm device that comes with a 2600mAh battery. WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR is also present. If you live in Japan, you also get TV-Tuner card built-in.

We have already ranted about its keyboard. Having forced to fit so many functions into the small 56 key keyboard, Kohjinsha double-mapped way too many keys on it.

Heat: Very little. The machine stay quite most of the time. The Z520 does not produce a lot of heat.

Priced at $770 (69,800  Yen), it is a tablet netbook that has too many compromises: low RAM, weak CPU, Windows XP (should have had Windows 7) and only 1 USB port. To us, we would instead look at other better ultra-ultra portables like the Fujistu U2010/U820 or the Sony VAIO P
