Just remove the RAM and install the new RAM. There is no ribbon to peal

I went to replace the Ram with a 2gb Kingston board, however there was no ribbon to peal back to allow access to the 1GB Board – instead there was a solid black plate holding it in place.

Do you know how to remove and replace this?

You need to go to BIOS once (or twice) to make your system recognize the extra RAM. Press F2 during bootup to enter the BIOS

I upgraded my EEE 1002HA to 2GB but in control panel -> perfomance and care-> system
there stands 0.99 GB ??

What i have to do ?
BIOS?
