However, the best part of this netbook is its resolution: 1366 x 768 px, which gives it an obvious edge over its competitors. So, was it able to impress us?

A new nettop, XC Mini GP7A-HD (Japanese link) has been launched by AOpen Japan, featuring a Core 2 Duo processor and NVidia ION graphic chipset. The most unique feature in this nettop is its “Silent & HD playback mode”, which is basically for conservation of power while watching movies. It measures 61 x 166 x 180mm in dimension, and also features a card reader, a slot-in DVD burner.

It has two RAM slots and allows upto 4GB of RAM. It has 6 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, eSATA, HDMI and VGA port. Strangely, WiFi is not included.

It can run Windows XP, Vista and/or Windows 7. To be released in mid-December in single color, Black

Apple’s rumored tablet delayed, necessary changes to be made

Apple is though trying its best to hide and secure the information of its upcoming new tablet, but they have not been able to hide that the cost of the 9.7-inch OLED display being produced by LG is very high, which is the core reason that is going to make the tablet too pricey for a normal consumer. This has forced LG to introduce some changes in the manufacturing process of OLED displays.

It expected that, this tablet would range between $800 to $1,000 each.

ViewSonic VPC101 all-in-one PC to be released in December for $650

ViewSonic has launched its new all-in-one wonder, VPC101 that runs Windows 7 OS and sports a touchscreen display.

It features an 18.5-inch display with 1366 x768 resolution; runs Windows 7 Home Premium with plethora of touch-friendly features. It features an Intel Atom 230 CPU that runs @ 1.6 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD and integrted GMA 950 graphics along with built-in WiFi (b/g).

The Viewsonic VPC101 all-in-one will be making its debut in December and will be priced at $650.

With a doubt, it features specs that were seen in the all-in-ones released 5-6 months ago. At $650, bigger RAM and more roomier hard disk would have been much more appreciated.

ASUS Eee PC 1201N to be in UK in January 2010

Latest word on this ION-netbook by ASUS is that they will be launching it in UK in the coming year 2010. Earlier, we mentioned that it would be launched in UK in December 2009, but it has now been postponed to mid of January.

It sports an ION processor, dual core Atom 330 processor, 320GB Hard disk + 500GB online storage, 0.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi b/g and 3GB RAM

Nothing is still mentioned officially on product page yet, also not on the ASUS global website.

We now have full specifications of the netbook that was earlier supposed to be Lenovo X200e,but was later confirmed that it was infact Lenovo X100e. The Lenovo ThinkPad x100e as expected runs AMD Athlon processor.

The ThinkPad x100e features : an 11.6-inch @ 1366 x 768 Display (200 nits), AMD Athlon MV-40 processor,160 / 250 / 320GB Hard disk, 4GB memory, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Card Reader, Ethernet, Wi-Fi b/g, audio jacks, Optional Bluetooth and WWAN, HD Audio, stereo speakers and 0.3MP Webcam. It will be available with XP Home, XP Professional, Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium or Professional as OS. The keyboard is spill-resistant. It weighs 1.5kg and comes bundled with a 6-cell battery (3-cell battery is also available). You will be able to get 5 hours with the 6-cell and 2.5 hours with the 3-cell battery.

You get two way to control the mouse, either by using the trackball or by using its multi-touch trackpad. The trackball is similar to the little mouse pointer that is also used in the SONY VAIO P.

Prices starts at $449 and it will be available in red and white color.

Dell adopts Greener approach – Mini 10 and Mini 10v netbooks with Bamboo Packaging

Dell is going eco-friendly with their netbooks as they are now offering a greener packaging for the Dell Mini 10 and Dell Mini 10v netbooks. The Bamboo, famous for its incredible strength will protect and hold the netbook as-nicely-as its conventional packaging. Also, the outer box is recyclable.

Basically, what they provide is a bootable ISO that can be ‘burned’ to a USB pen drive that lets you carry your operating systems as-well-as your programs with you wherever you.

Simply plug the USB style stick or a Smartphone carrying your OCEAN OS into your netbook, a friends netbook, the office computer, a hotel computer, even one in the local internet cafe!, and BAM, just like at home you are on your base operating system with all your programs and information. You have all the same programs, no worries!

PineTrail’s processor = Cedar Trail – coming to the netbooks near you in 2011

Cedar Trail is going to be the successor to the upcoming Pine-trail range of CPUs. Cedar Trail is destined to make its appearance in the year 2011. Also, Intel will most likely shift to 32nm (from 45nm) process which will make these CPUs even more power efficient.

According to Intel’s Vice President, the main aim is to get more integrated and cheaper platform for Intel partners (OEMs and Manufactures). After Pine Trail-based Atom N450 and N470 (for netbooks), as-well-as D410 and D510 (for nettops), the Cedar Trail processors will bring considerable performance increase compared to the processors that we are using right now.

A new slate PC by Stantum has been unveiled which is actually a 10.1-inch Dell Mini 10 presented as a slate PC. It has a multi-touch, resistive multi-touch display supports 10 points, finger and stylus input, runs Windows 7 as OS and consumes less power. Webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 1 USB port have been removed from the Slate PC which might limit its appeal. Who would buy a tablet without built-in WiFi radio in 2009? Not a brilliant idea for sure.

Nothing could be known about its price.

The Radeon HD 5970 has 3200 shaders and comes with 2GB GDDR5 RAM. The Maximum Board Power reaches to 294W and 4.64 TFLOPs is the total GPU compute performance for the card. A great competitor for Geforce GTX 295.

Runs Window 7 Starter Edition as OS and has an attractive chiclet keyboard along with responsive touch pad. It will be on sale in US soon, but exact dates are not yet known.

Price: $399. It was supposed to be launched in the first week of November, but we are happy to see it finally being on sale
