ASUS EEE 1101HA review

The ASUS EEE 1101HA is the epitomization of good looks combined with great battery life. It carries the same Seashell design like its 10-inch brother, EEE 1008HA. But, the ASUS has entering a bit late into the 11.6-inch netbook market, but that does not make it an unattractive deal by any chance. It is a great netbook.

Acer AO751H REVIEW (same as Acer LT3000) (Acer Aspire One 751)

With so many netbook manufactures now breaking into the 10-inch+ screen limit, Acer was no way going to left behind in the business where it actually rules. The Acer A0751H is the first Acer Aspire One to sport an Intel Atom Z 520 processor that is clocked at 1.3GHz. However, the best part of this netbook is its resolution: 1366 x 768 px, which gives it an obvious edge over its competitors. So, was it able to impress us?

ASUS EEE T91 User Review

gmich over eeeuser forum has posted a nice review of the ASUS EEE T91 convertible netbook.

What he liked about the EEE T91 tablet:

1) The form factor, to me, is close to perfect.  The 9" screen at 1024×600 is fine for web browsing, eBook reading, and the other uses I mentioned.  It’s very light and can be held like a book in tablet mode for long periods of time.  This is something I think a lot of the reviewers missed — they complained about the small screen, tight keyboard, etc., but for me, the T91 is about mobility, and on that score it ranks high.
2) Build quality seems quite good overall.  Solid hinge, keyboard is better than the original 701/900 keyboard, plastics are (or at least seem to be) sturdy.
3) Battery life.  I’ts not quite 5 hours, but it’s not far from it.  I’m getting about 4.5 in moderate use.
4) Tablet mode.  Web surfing on the couch, in the kitchen, in bed, are all easier and, to me, more comfortable with a slate.
5) The touchscreen.  It’s not capacitive, of course, and not multi-touch, but it’s good at what it does.  As for the screen brightness, it could be better, but it’s not bad at all.

What he did NOT like about it:

1) Glossy black finish.  Fingerprints are everywhere.  If I keep this I’ll definitely put a skin on it.  If white would’ve been available, I would’ve got it in white.  Still, this is a minor annoyance in my book.
2) The Touchgate interface is eye candy and not much more.  Using it, I found, slows the system down.  I’ve uninstalled all of it and am just using straight XP.
3) The customized version of Internet Explorer that comes with the T91.  Again, it seems to slow things down more than anything.  Firefox 3.5 works well.
4)  The reviews said that the Atom Z520 is sluggish, and while it’s been better than I expected after reading the reviews, it does get bogged down at times.  Even fullscreen YouTube videos can stutter when not in High Performance battery mode.  I tried some DivX movies using VLC and they seemed to play fine, however.  Still, the jury is still out on this one.  It’s definitely not a powerhouse, but I think it should be fine for my purposes.  I’m wondering if an extra 1GB of RAM or a faster SSD would help.

Looks like the Touchgate is not a very useful utility at all then. However, the major annoyance is the battery of the EEE T91 that is not user-replaceable. You will have to send it back to ASUS to get your battery replaced.
