Acer AO751H REVIEW (same as Acer LT3000) (Acer Aspire One 751)

With so many netbook manufactures now breaking into the 10-inch+ screen limit, Acer was no way going to left behind in the business where it actually rules. The Acer A0751H is the first Acer Aspire One to sport an Intel Atom Z 520 processor that is clocked at 1.3GHz. However, the best part of this netbook is its resolution: 1366 x 768 px, which gives it an obvious edge over its competitors. So, was it able to impress us?

Apple iPod Touch 3G 64GB MID review + comparison with the iPod Touch 2G

Apple iPod Touch is one of the most powerful MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices) out there. It has the OS that has been loved by the millions around the world. This year, Apple introduced iPod Touch 3G. Did we like it? Read the full review to find out!

Design

Apple believes minimalistic design is the most stylish design. This philosophy of following minimalistic design pattern can be seen in their iPhone, Macbooks and iMacs.

The iPod Touch 3G has just two buttons (excluding volume buttons)  : Home and Power button.

There are two buttons on the left side to adjust the volume.

There is no physical difference between iPod Touch 2G and iPod Touch 3G. Everything is same: Earphone jack, power button and connector port

How is the speed?

Compared to the iPod Touch 2G, you won’t notice any difference in speed. However, when I ran a heavy game like Need For Speed Undercover and Sims 3, the loading times were considerably shorter compared to iPod Touch 2G. The main highlight for the iPod Touch 3G is its 64GB flash storage (32GB version is also available).

Note: Apple is selling 8GB version with the 3.0 OS too, but it does not have better processor+ more RAM. It is nothing but a 2nd gen iPod Touch with new OS.

The newer iPod Touch runs faster processor and has more RAM than the previous gen. So you will find yourself doing much less soft-resets.

Has the battery life been affected?

Nope. May be slightly, but I have not noticed it.

The iPod Touch 3G comes preloaded with iPhone OS 3.0. For upgrading iPod Touch 2G to iPhone OS 3.0, you will need to shell out $10. After that, any 3.x update will be free of cost. The iPhone 3.0 unlocks Bluetooth on iPod Touch 2G and brings many other enhancements like spotlight search and better JS engine in Safari. There is still no Flash or Java support.

However, I expected iPod Touch 3G to come equip with a built-in camera. Given the fact that there are so many camera apps for the iPhone OS, I am certainly a bit angry at Apple not making making physical improvements to the hardware of iPod Touch 3G over its 2nd gen.

That said, the overall experience is very gratifying. The speed, the games that you can play on it, Internet experience; everything is almost perfect.
