HP Spectre XT TouchSmart ultrabook
Feeling much like a MacBook Pro, new Spectre XT TouchSmart notebook by HP is well built with solid specs and gorgeous and vibrant IPS display. Oh, and a Thunderbolt port!
TouchSmart features 15.6-inch glossy capacitive touch-screen with 1,920×1,080 pixel resolution. It weighs 2.2 kg (4.77lb) and measures 377 x 254 x 17.9 mm (14.84 x 10 x 0.70-inch).
TouchSmart ultrabook packs either Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 or i7 helped by 8GB of DDR3 RAM (1600 MHz) and Intel HD 4000 graphics. HP offers a choice of 500GB of standard storage (5200 RPM or 7200RPM) or choice of 128 and 256 SSD. Keeping the temperature down is HP Coolsense technology.
This HP Spectre XT ultrabook features Windows 8 OS, or optional Windows 8 Pro.

HP Windows 8 offerings include HP Envy X2 convertible ultrabook with detachable screen, HP EliteBook Revolve 810 notebook with rotatable touch screen and many other devices.
The ports include HDMI, USB 3.0, gigabit ethernet, and of course Thunderbolt. Like many ultrabooks it has no DVD or CD drive. Connectivity offered is 802.11a/g/n WLAN or Bluetooth. HP hasn’t disclosed a price yet, but $1200 or so should be expected price point. HP offers a cheaper alternative, Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 featuring cheaper 14-inch LCD touch-screen for about $800.
HP is still the biggest computer maker despite the short grab by Lenovo in third quarter of 2012.
