Barnes and Nobles Nook Simple Touch $20 off

Today on Green Monday, 3rd biggest spending day of Christmas Holiday season, Amazon and Barnes and Nobles offer discounts on their already low prices for their tablets. Amazon is offering $50 off of 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD, while B&N shaves $20 off of Nook Simple Touch.


$50 off can be applied to a 16GB WiFi Fire HD for total $249, or 32GB 4G version for $449. Limit is one purchase per customer with code FIREHD89 shouted at the cashier. Kindle Fire HD has 8.9-inch HD display with 1920×1200 pixel resolution, and 254 ppi pixel density. It is run by 1.5Ghz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor and PowerVR 3D graphics and 1GB of RAM. Storage is 32 GB. Connectivity is fast with dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi (802.11 b, g, n, n 5GHz) that is 40 percent faster than that of iPad 3. There is a fron facing 1.3MP camera. Amazon offers some 22 million media and apps.

Barnes and Nobles announced $20 off of their Nook Simple Touch yesterday. By the sound of it this is not ‘today only’ deal, but rather a permanent discount. You can now pick up Nook Simple Touch tablet for $79. Basic Amazon Fire costs $69, but it comes with slew of advertising and non touch screen. Nook Simple Touch sports 6-inch E Ink Pearl display with 800 x 600 pixel resolution. It is run by sufficient 800MHz TI OMAP3 chip and it offers 2GB of internal storage expandable by 32GB via microSD card. Nook Simple Touch has a strong battery that will last you for 2 months if you read an average of 30 min a day. With purchase of Simple Touch you get access to 2.5 million books and no advertisement.
