Hack the Chrome OS, Google’s mighty challenge
There are two directions that you can go for when it comes to cloud based systems like the Google Chrome OS used on the Cr-48 and other upcoming notebooks from the company. You can either laud it for being very secure, protecting your data even if the laptop breaks down, gets burned or other kinds of possibilities. You can also say that it is the least secure of all for the reasons that it might be used by the company for sharing information to other companies or be hacked by various computer geeks. The worst thing is that marketers might get a grasp of the information.
That is why Google challenges any hackers out there to hack the system and show the company that even with their lock down system, it can still be undermined. Prize money of $20,000 is the prize for any hacker who can show that the Google Chrome OS can be hacked and security can be affected. This is a pretty fantastic deal since the company is putting really tight measures to ensure that the OS is really secure. This challenge is a fantastic way for them also to figure out ways to intensify the security and make sure that anyone who will use the Google notebooks will have tight security.
Here is Google video depicting the safety of working in the cloud. Enjoy!
