Google “Puppy” Chromebook to Feature Tegra 4 CPU
Google’s new Chromebook rumored to feature touch-screen is to run NVidia Tegra 4 processor.
Chromebooks are essentially notebooks running Chrome web based OS. Most major OEMs have climbed onboard this phenomena with their offerings. Samsung has lead the amazon’s best selling list with their Series 3 chromebooks. Lenovo introduced their ThinkPad X131e Chromebook exclusively for schools. Acer chromebooks are basically the only things keeping Acer from drowning, and HP is making a 14-inch Pavilion Chromebook that goes by name 14-c010us.
It is no surprise then to see Google working on a new Chromebook with touch screen. Chromebook goes by codename “Puppy” as it has been found in chromium code base by chromestory.
The new NVidia T114 “dalmore” ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core chip presumably Tegra 4 is to feature 72 graphics cores. With this graphic setup Tegra 4 will be able to power screens up to 2,560 x 1600 of pixel resolution with 1080p video output at 120Hz. T4 has also been referred to as Wayne and on NVidia’s roadmap it’s said to be built on 28 nanometer technology. It is to be 6 times as powerful as popular Tegra 3.
