Galaxy S IV and its eye scrolling feature

Eye scrolling, Eye pause and automatic page flipping when eye reaches the bottom of the page are but a few of new features that are rumored to be present at next week’s unveiling of Samsung Galaxy S IV handset.

New York Times reports that upcoming new Galaxy S IV smartphone will have these leaked features and that an anonymous employee leaking this info has been asked to remain anonymous. Samsung has filled for patents like “Eye Pause” and “Eye Scroll” last month. The new features aren’t reported to be on next flagship Galaxy S IV phone, but that does not stop anyone from hoping.

The new feature works by tracking user’s retina. Once you finish reading the page, next paragraph is shown. The patent filled by Samsung reads:

“Computer application software having a feature of sensing eye movements and scrolling displays of mobile devices, namely, mobile phones, smartphones and tablet computers according to eye movements; digital cameras; mobile telephones; smartphones; tablet computers.”

“Smart Stay” is one Samsung feature, that tracks your retina to discover whether you’re still looking at the screen to keep it lit, or whether you’re looking away to dim it and save your battery. Smart Stay feature is enjoyed by great many who own Galaxy S III handset.

Samsung will unveil new Galaxy S IV in their scheduled press conference in New York on March 14th.

Most highly circulated rumors surrounding S IV’s features and specs include 5-inch Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED+ display, Samsung’s 2GHz quad-core A15 Exynos 5450 processor, Mali T658 graphics, 2GB of RAM, 13 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel fron facing cameras, 3100mAh battery, 16GB up to 64GB of flash memory, microSD card option of up to 64GB, and of course android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
